Friday night, November 8th, THE DANGER ROOM returns. We have not had one for a long time, and many pondered whether or not we would ever have another one, but the pieces all fell together to bring it back and it will be a special show...

Jarob, Josh, and TJ from THE PROTEST will be on hand to perform a special acoustic show where they will play some of their PROTEST songs, some cover songs, and some worship songs. They will be joined by STRAND OF THREE, a local group that leads the Praise team at Kokomo First Assembly, and our hosts...the Praise team made up of the youth from Woodland Church of God, DRIVEN will also perform in the FREE show. A free-will donation will be taken to give to the performers!

WHAT IS THE DANGER ROOM?

The Danger Room is the newest concert series that A1M has created. It is the brainchild of Chris Bousum and Jeremy Hook. In comic book lore, the DANGER ROOM is an X-MEN training facility. It teaches the young mutants how to hone, perfect, and stretch their training to make them more powerful. Well, our DANGER ROOM, also gives attendees a chance to leave their comfort zone and take advantage of an "open mic" where they can sing a song, recite a poem, or give a testimony. For many, public speaking is a phobia, and by giving the "open mic" time, it allows people to finally showcase some of their gifts, or to tell what God has done in their lives.

Of course the DANGER ROOM also features some great bands putting on amazing shows as well. What would an A1M event be without an awesome concert?

A couple other things that happens in the DANER ROOM helps set it apart from any other A1M event, well...for that matter anywhere else. The "open mic," itself is a vast departure from most events, but we also tend to have a "cook-off" of some sort. Once it was a chili cook-off and last time a pasta dish cook-off, and guess who gets to judge the food and decide the winner? YOU do, all attendees get a chance to sample the food and cast their votes while enjoying fellowship. We also, on occasion, have had the bands and some attendees make a panel for a group discussion.

The way we end the event is also different...all are invited, after the main concert, to hang out and be led in a time of Worship together. These sessions are led by different people/groups but it is an amazing time and awesome way to end the night.

That is quite a great way to spend an evening for only $5.
